Extending table. The idea for this extending table comes from the observation of the entablatures that sustain viaducts: two pillars holding a beam which extends beyond the supports and end like two cantilevers. The variable geometry of the sections of the beam (the table top) and of the pillars (the table legs), which gets narrower at the extremities, help in design something consistent with the pushes and the strains acting on the structure.
