Magneto is the new lamp designed by Giulio Iacchetti for Foscarini. The lamp consists of a beam supported by a base and a conical diffuser held together by a magnet ball. Thanks to the magnet, it can be moved in each direction. The intense and precise light, which is not disturbing in the environment, making it an ideal reading light. Magneto exists in two versions: table and floor, occupies a space that is between the classical table lamp and more techniques lamp, and this feature makes it versatile and suitable for different environments.

Tancredi and BARTHOLOMEW is the new interpretation of the art de la table for Vhernier De Vecchi. Presented at Maison Objet 2012, is a family of tableware where the Mediterranean simplicity, the elegance of Italian design, the dialogue between materials and between the artisan knowledge, come together in a sophisticated design, materials, shapes, and the idea of a new sociability open to contamination and mixing of different tastes.
Ceramics, wood, glass and silverplate for a mise en place where symbolically stands out a menage realized in silverplate and valuable rosewood that becomes an ideal square: an agorà (latin), which collects the flavors of a cosmopolitan cuisine, from soy sauce to oil, salt pepper, curry and ginger.

Ape is a little series of objects designed for aperitifs deservedly becomes part of the historic family of cocktail products that Alessi has proposed since the 1950’s.
The “Ape” set can be used at home or on a bar table. The starting point of the project are some little multi-purpose containers and a wooden chopping board for little flans, all mounted on little steel stands (to make them easier to handle and serve), and then little bowls for olives, nuts, crisps. Three little inventions have been added to the family: a self standing cocktail stick holder, which can also be inserted in the olive bowl if desired, a teaspoon with a special cavity for picking up peanuts, and a steel container with lid for concealing little bits of rubbish from view.

Laminam ceramic slabs are as large as they are thin: they make you think of theatre sets, boundless vertical surfaces that, aligned and offset from one another, create the illusion of depth, of a magical, infinite stage space. That is how the Laminam installation came about for the Milan showroom during the Christmas period: a fairytale mountain landscape inspired by the painting by Pieter Bruegel “The Hunters in the Snow” with red firs, with a sky of bright stars, amid the sloping hills, all those small log cabins and a little church… the large surfaces of Laminam lend themselves to being cut according to precise designs, to contribute to creating an unexpected third dimension.

Three thin iron strips, suitably twined following an helicoidal drawing, contribute to create a three branch candlestick. The skillful and traditional working of wrought iron becomes clear and model observing how the metal is transformed and shaped by the effect of the hammer, by adapting itself to the formal design. The hardness of the material clashes with the light movement of the iron strips that move in the space fulfilling several functions they are for: base, arm and support of the candles.
Iron and Fire is one piece of “Between the devil and the deep blue sea” exhibition resulted from the will of the company Sampietro 1927 to tell the endless story of metalworking by means of a limited election of numbered pieces, designed by the participants to the workshop directed by Giulio Iacchetti. Four designers– Federico Angi, Carlo Contin, Dunja Weber and 4P1B Studio – represent the new generation of Italian design, clever and sensitive to the relations between design and handicraft. Triennale Milano, 29.11.2011 – 8.1.2012

Art combines with design world offers a dimension of pure imagination, freedom, colour, and irrationality. The Stripe-Tease armchair is the protagonist of a double interpretation; in one hand it dressed with a colourful shape, made of ribbons stretched out further the frame, spread in disorder, supple and dishevelled overall the floor, the scene evokes the painter’s palette and the typical circular sign of Van-Gogh. In the other hand a sober and elegant weaving black and white stretches to the walls and the ceiling in a perfect alignment. It projects the outline of the armchairs in all directions. This installation offers the vision of a space organized by straight lines, it refers to the Mondrian’s painting and suggests a flavour vaguely cubist.

Giulio Iacchetti thought the walls that expand endlessly changing from vertical scenes to horizontal spaces thanks to the designs of fields planted with wheat and artichokes …This is a personal interpretation of living space that already had anticipated when Gino Paoli, singing “Il cielo in una stanza” imagined walls replaced by infinite trees.
In his project the walls of the host backgrounds that refer to the products of: well-ordered rows of artichokes, golden ears of wheat offer new perspectives. The idea is to look beyond the home and may well reach the countryside surrounding the city, returning to our living a vague reference to nature.
