The world of projecting has always been fascinated by the smoking pipe. In the past, Joe Colombo, Porshe Design and Roberto Sambonet, just to name a few, took on with the prototype of a double burning chamber pipe. Been an occasional pipe smoker, I couldn’t resist the temptation of reinterpreting this object that in Italy has its own peculiar manufacturing district in the area around Varese. Thanks to the meeting with Savinelli, the Italian company with the richest history in making pipes, “Radica chic” was born: it is an innovative self- standing pipe obtained from a single briar block. I have thought about a table pipe, easy to use while you are drawing or using your computer. Its ability of standing perfectly straight avoid annoying leakages of both tobacco and ashes, thus, smoking a pipe becomes a pleasant.
