For ABET, together with Matteo Ragni, I designed a simple easel, easy to open and fold away, that clearly displays two laminates. Thanks to equally simple hooks, more ABET samples can be added to create material moodboards that combine different finishes and colours.
The inspiration comes from an everyday object: the sandwich board showing the menu or the dish of the day, the kind we pass on the pavement outside the city’s street food spots.
From this essential element comes a display that is quick to set up, effective and replicable. It is easy to transport, can be updated with new materials, and adapts to spaces of different sizes.
Above all, it is a display designed to stay in use, rather than become waste after just a few days.
Because sustainability lies not only in the materials we choose, but also in how we design objects, how we imagine their uses, and how we extend their life.
