G Plant is the first autonomous high-tech system of water sterilization on a large scale, invented by the impact investing start-up GratzUp. Studio Iacchetti has designed the two containers that make the use and storage of the water possible. “G Bottle” and “G Tank” contain 0.5 liters and 10 liters of water, respectively. They are containers that are simple and safe to use, durable and manageable, capable of informing the user about that progress of the sterilization cycle thanks to a microchip mounted on the cap.

The two containers can be filled with contaminated water and inserted inside single slots in service cabinet. Here, thanks to the heat transfer done with 3D induction technology patented by GratzUp, the dirty water reaches a temperature of 138.5 degrees C at a pressure of 3.5 bar for 120 seconds, undergoing a complete cycle of sterilization. Then a cooling system kicks in to bring the treated water back to room temperature, ready for use in less than 15 minutes. This technology is capable of sterilizing contaminated water anywhere in the world, without the need for filters or chemical substances. It is about to be implemented in Rwanda.
