”Guess who’s coming to dinner?” Whenever the buffet tray was pulled out in my house it meant that guests were coming. Even today, the tray appeals to me as an item, in that it measures the distance between the arms: the bigger it is, the bigger is the welcome and the abundance of good things on offer. We have hatched an “unfolding” tray, one that can be lengthened ad infinitum, even if we have limited the series to only three sizes!
